The History of CCE
In 1992, an assessment of education activities in
Palm Beach County was commissioned by the
Palm Beach County Cultural Council, the John D.
and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, and the
Chastain Charitable Foundation. The resulting
report, along with a coalition of community, cultural
and education advisory board members, established
CCE in 1994 with the goal of improving students’ educational experience.
Through its two main programs, Project LEAP and
CADRE, CCE reaches schools serving disadvantaged
communities to help them improve their educational performance, improve parent and community
involvement in the educational process, and promote
systemic change in their approach to education.
